WELLCOME TO A PROCESS OF NON DOCUMENTATION

LA CUCINA FUTURISTA

“it is not by chance this work is published during a world economic crisis, which has clearly inspired a dangerous depressing panic, though its future direction remains unclear. We propose as an antidote to the panic a futurist way of cooking, that is optimism at the table.”

La Cucina Futurista was first and foremost an  experiment in meal time politics. The event was hosted as a theatrical/sculptural dining experience inspired by an consideration of the recurring relevance of the Italian Futurist movement and prepared with food adapted from the Futurist food manifestos published by Filippo Marinetti from 1930 onwards.

La Cucina Futurista aimed to readdress the futurist food project in a way that challenged participants to explore through the lens of a futurist method both the relevancy and the political complexity of the mealtime experience to form a prognosis of our present day situation.
